Carrie Battista received a BFA in glass and minor in sculpture at the Cleveland Institute of Art. After school she was able to continue her artistic exploration by finding opportunities to work and study with contemporary artists. She has also been the recipient of several residency programs. In addition to her work with glass, Carrie has studied various media including blacksmithing, printmaking and enameling. Carries most recent work revolves around imagery and narrative scenes that incorporate and embrace the techniques of gold leaf gilding and reverse painting on glass to illuminate her scenes. She currently lives and works in Normal, IL.
